Tenerife has much to offer to all generations of visitor, whether you are visiting the island for a relaxing family holiday or an energetic hell raising party animal holiday. For the family you will find a large number of clean beaches where you can relax in safety. All sorts of entertainment can be found on many of the beaches such as Pedalos, Banana rides, Jet Ski’s, Diving and Paragliding to name but a few. When you find time away from the beach and pool you can take an excursion to see the Whales and Dolphins or visit one of the many attractions on the island such as the world famous Loro Parque or visit Pico de Teide which rises into the clouds.
For the shopping enthusiast you will find some excellent shops on Tenerife some of which obviously are tourist orientated selling the usual Lilo’s, inflatable rings and tyres and the like. You will however find plenty of shops selling designer clothes and upmarket products at reasonable prices. You will also see on sale copies of many designer goods especially on the local markets.
Tenerife is well known for its Timeshare Touts although they appear not to be selling Timeshare anymore but what appears to be a Holiday Club. If at anytime you are offered scratch cards on the street do not accept them just say no thanks and walk away. If you do accept them you will find that one of you (normally the lady and the last card to be scratched) has won the star prize. The person who gave you the card will look amazed as if he or she has never seen someone win the star prize and then will attempt to put you in a Taxi or walk you to nearby offices where you will be conducted to a several hours hard sell presentation which can be very intimidating. Remember that all this has been exposed on British television many times and proven to be a con, what you are buying is basically nothing, it doesn’t exist. Remember nothing is free.
The latest news is that recently the Arona council has now banned these touts, however no doubt you will still be approached by them. They still appear to be operating but are wary of the local Police and therefore have “lookouts” strategically placed.
You will see a few links to some of the attractions on offer on Tenerife but we have only added a very small selection.
